Assistant Buyer

London Projects is a Chartered Construction Company based in Westminster. We specialise in the construction of super-prime residential projects in premier postcodes such as Belgravia, Knightsbridge, and Mayfair.

We are seeking a talented and passionate individual to join our growing, in-house Procurement team. We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Buyer based at our head office in Central London. The ideal candidate will work under the guidance of our Senior Buyer and assist in day-to-day procurement duties across some of the most unique and exciting projects in London.

We welcome applications from highly organised and pro-active individuals who are motivated to further their experience in Procurement while being mentored by an experienced Buyer at a leading super prime residential contractor. This role will allow the right candidate ample opportunity to take on new responsibilities in the future as they gain the necessary experience in the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deal with incoming site requisition forms
  • Assist the Senior Buyer in day-to-day procurement tasks as needed
  • Selecting the best-fit supplier for the order
  • Issuing orders via our in-house software programme
  • Data entry and uploads into our in-house project management system as needed
  • Ensure that there is a clear line of communication between the Procurement team and the sites, including daily site check in’s with the Site Managers.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience in buying or sales for a Main Contractor or Builder’s Merchants
  • Previous experience or have an understanding of construction materials sales
  • Ability to perform data entry tasks quickly and accurately
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office essential
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly strong telephony skills.
  • Have strong planning and organisation skills - with the ability to re-prioritise as required
  • Have the ability to work to a high degree of accuracy and meet deadlines
  • Proactive and Hands-on, able to embrace new ideas and challenges within the role
