London Projects is a Chartered Construction Company based in Westminster. We specialise in the construction of super-prime residential projects in premier postcodes such as Belgravia, Knightsbridge, and Mayfair.

We are seeking talented and passionate individuals to join our growing, in-house Design Department to meet continued demand for our design management and pre-construction expertise on a number of newly awarded, one-of-a-kind projects.

The Role

We are seeking talented and passionate individuals to join our growing, in-house Design Department to meet continued demand for our design management and pre-construction expertise on exciting, one-of-a-kind projects. We currently have an opportunity for an Assistant Design Manager based at our head office in Central London. The ideal candidate will form part of a core project team and assist in the technical delivery of projects, contributing to the design management process from pre-construction through to handover. The Assistant Design Manager work alongside Design Managers to co-ordinate and manage all stages of design information from specialist consultants and sub-contractors.

Due to the nature of the schemes in which London Projects specialises, and the unwavering expectations of our clients and their design teams, candidates will be expected to demonstrate exceptional attention to design detail and be motivated to further their career in Design Management while being mentored by the experienced team at a leading super-prime residential contractor. With Design Manager roles existing in the team, there is ample opportunity for the right candidate to take on new responsibilities in the future as they gain the necessary experience in the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Design Managers with their day-to-day co-ordination and management of design information from specialist consultants and sub-contractors across a number of projects
  • Drafting of coordination drawings for building services, to include 3d modelling where necessary
  • Programme, track, and QA the approvals process throughout RIBA Stage 4 & 5, including technical submittals, shop drawings, and samples
  • Assist in the management of design-related RFI process through to close-out
  • Attend and minute regular Design Team Meetings (DTM) and design workshops and assist the Design Managers with follow-up action items
  • Generate Information Release Schedules and assist with the associated approvals processes to ensure timely delivery of the works
  • Assist in the production and approval of samples, mock-ups, and quality benchmarks
  • Attend site regularly to monitor progress and assist in the resolution of site coordination matters with the relevant parties, including formal documentation/approval of outcomes
  • Attend and contribute to regular project meetings, both internally and externally with clients and their consultant teams
  • Adhere to Company-wide project reporting requirements in relation to design management, both internally and externally
  • Produce as-built drawings as necessary for inclusion in O&M handover documents
  • Produce logistics drawings for tender submissions
  • Contribute to Design Department initiatives outside day-to-day project assistance, such as branding, standards and templates, supplier outreach, consultant outreach, CPDs, sample library curation etc.
